Thanks! That works great. The board is a digicom? Dont quote me on that
and the card is not clearly marked.
Now my next question, I want to use zoneminder (www.zoneminder.com) for a
video surveillance system but zoneminder requires a /dev/video0
/dev/video1 bla bla bla for accessing the cameras. Any idea how I could
do this with this setup. The xawtv works great but how would I get it to
work in zomeminder or any other software that requires access to a /dev
file.
Once again. Thanks very much!!!

when you start xawtv with -c /dev/video0 parameter, and after you
close help screen, press O (not 0), and choose different source. it
defaults to "television", and that is your first input from card. by
changing them to composite1, s-video, and composite 3 you will get
image from other 3 inputs.
good luck!

p.s. what is the model name of that card? i have geovision gv250
(based around bt878 chip) with one video input channel, but i cant
get image from it under linux - under windows it runs perfectly.

Hi all.
New to the list and jut getting into the video4Linux stuff. My apologies
if this has been asked and answered.
I am testing some capture cards for a supplier of mine to see if we can
get them running under Linux. Running into some issue I could use help
with.
I have a bt878 capture card with a single chip on board and 4 inputs on
he
back of the card. When I install the card into my FC3 box kudzu set it
up
and all looks good.
Now when I fire up a xawtv I can get a signal from the first input but
can
not get anything from the other 3 inputs. In the /dev/ the is only
video0
and not video1 2 or 3. I have tried creating the dev files but when I
try
to connect to the device with xawtv it says there is no device.
Are there any good howto on this that you could direct me to?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
